For true lovers of yellow felt...we give you, tennis ball shoes
The Talk Tennis Warehouse discussion forum made mention of a special edition Reebok pump tennis shoe made out of...wait for it...wait for it...actual tennis ball materials. Check it out...you're sure to make a statement at your local club.

However...Reebok was not the originator of this footwear folly...it was, in fact, Airwalk who made the idea of a true "tennis shoe" famous. I know because I worked there when this shoe was made. It is not a performance tennis shoe like the Reebok, but it is a made entirely out of tennis ball felt. The model is actually called the "Jim" and it was a classic, Stan Smith-esque casual shoe. And I can tell you, much to the chagrin of the footwear buyers who were too afraid to buy this gem...it sold very well.

Thanks to Tennis shoes... or so they're called for the image of the Jim.
