Those crazy Kiwi's and their tennis

The Manawatu Standard ran a story this past Sunday on a woman who is organizing a world record attempt for the most people on a tennis court holding a tennis racquet. She's doing it to get attention on tennis and hopefully motivate people to "dust off their racquets," which we think is a noble effort.

It seems to be building into quite an event too. There'll be a family friendly zone, and the chief executive of Tennis New Zealand, Steve Walker, will be there. Afterwards there'll be a 10-minute demonstration match between an as-yet-undisclosed New Zealand celebrity and a top local player.

I'm thinking there aren't a heckuva lot of WhatsAllTheRacquet readers who live in New Zealand, or are traveling there this weekend. But...if you're around Manawatu, get over to the courts and participate!

So...do you think they will be using the doubles alleys?
