Tennis is still the fastest growing traditional sport

According to the Tennis Industry Association:

Tennis participation has grown 12.2 percent from 2000 to 2006, according to the SGMA's Sports and Fitness Participation Report (2007). The only other sports to grow were golf (2.4 percent) and football (2.1 percent).

More than 25 million people played tennis in 2007, which is the first time that threshold has been broken since the 1990s, according to the TIA/USTA Participation Study. And, play instances are up among frequency of players.
